WMOST

The Watershed Management Optimization Support Tool (WMOST) is a public tool for local water resources managers to screen a wide range of potential water resources management options across their watershed or jurisdiction for cost-effectiveness as well as environmental and economic sustainability.

The tool is also intended to facilitate the evaluation of low impact development (LID) and green infrastructure as alternative or complementary management options in projects proposed for State Revolving Funds (SRF).

WMOST identifies the least-cost combination of management practices to meet the user’s specified management goals. This may include meeting projected water supply/demand and minimum/maximum stream flow targets.WMOST considers a wide range of management practices, both structural and nonstructural and is capable of producing cost-benefit analyses to allow for the comparison of management options.

Intended User: This tool is intended for local water resources managers, including municipal water works superintendents and consultants.

Geographic focus: Model is designed to simulate any watershed, provided the user enters the appropriate input information.
