BMP Descriptions

Typical BMPs used in runoff management are listed below. Short descriptions and schematics of BMP types can be viewed by clicking on each BMP link. Note: Full Capture Systems, as defined by the State Water Resurces Control Board, trap all particles that are 5 mm or greater, and have a design treatment capacity that is either a)not less than the peak flow rate resulting from a one-year, one-hour, storm in the drainage area; or b) appropriately sized to, and designed to carry at least the same flows as, the corresponding catch basin.
