Construction
As a core service area, CASQA provides statewide support, training, resources, and educational opportunities for construction stormwater Permittees.
The Construction Subcommittee provides a forum for permittees and consultants to engage with experts in the field. During permit reissuance, this subcommittee is a vital resource where permittees work collaboratively to identify recommendations and solutions, resulting in a powerful, integrated voice. During permit implementation, this subcommittee provides a venue for information sharing, supporting permittees in complying with the Construction General Permit, and most importantly, achieving the goals for the protection of water quality.
Construction
CASQA’s Construction BMP Handbook provides practical and industry leading resources to support implementation of the Construction General Permit (CGP) issued by the State Water Resources Control Board. The handbook includes Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) templates for traditional projects and linear underground projects (LUP), BMP Fact Sheets for erosion and sediment control, non-stormwater management and material management, and guidance on selection of slope stabilization techniques.
Development
CASQA also provides the Development BMP Handbook focused on BMPs that reduce the discharge of pollutants and control or reduce impacts to the hydrologic cycle associated with development and redevelopment activities.
In partnership with the California Water Boards, CASQA leads the Construction General Permit Training Team (CGPTT), a collaborative group comprised of industry experts (e.g., State Water Board, Regional Water Boards, CASQA, construction managers, the development community, linear project managers, academics, etc.). Through an all-volunteer effort, the CGPTT advises on the development and implementation of the Construction General Permit Training Program, including qualifications for Trainers of Record, Qualified SWPPP Developers (QSDs), and Qualified SWPPP Practitioners (QSPs).
