Water Quality Priorities
To focus on the most critical statewide water quality priorities, CASQA has developed a robust methodology to score, rank, and integrate data from the following perspectives: CASQA drivers, regulatory drivers, public policy / stakeholder drivers, and scientific/monitoring data drivers. The methodology utilizes a customized version of EPA’s Using Stakeholder Input to Evaluate and Rank Alternatives – Basic Decision-Making Spreadsheet Tool.
Four clear statewide water quality priorities have been identified: Pathogen Indicators (e.g., Bacteria), Biological Integrity / Biostimulatory Substances; Current Use Pesticides, and Trash. CASQA has prioritized developing solutions for each of these water quality priorities.
CASQA also has a long history of focusing on true source control solutions for priority metals – copper and zinc.
